Hamilton Watches invited me to celebrate the 60th anniversary of their Ventura watch at the Spoke Club in Toronto. The event coincided with the 60th anniversary of Elvis’ first and only Toronto Concert. For those of you that aren’t familiar with Hamilton Watches, the Ventura was the world’s first electric watch and it was made famous by Elvis Presley in the film Blue Hawaii. Hence the Elvis themed event. It was cool to be able to see two of the Ventura watches that were actually owned by The King himself. Other Hamilton watches were displayed throughout the event but the Ventura were my favourite as they have a very unique striking design.
Through the evening, the film Blue Hawaii was screened on a very large screen. It brought you back to an age of classic style and big hair. Entertainment was on point with local singer/songerwriter Michaela May delivering Elvis covers with with her own unique flair. They went all out with the event and offered guests hair styling courtesy of American Crew as well as Elvis themed hors d’oeuvres and Stoli Cocktails.
