Kellogg’s NYC: A Cafe that takes your favourite cereals to another level

I am always eager to try new restaurants and cafes and that’s why I decided to visit the Kellogg’s NYC Cereal Café. The café is located in one of the most beautiful parts of New York City, Union Square. Although Kellogg’s did host me at the café, all opinions are my own.

To be honest, I am a great fan of cereal. That is exactly why I wanted to check out the menu of this café and see how seemingly ordinary breakfast food can be turned into something inventive and special. Inspired by tasty and healthy cereals, this trendy 5000 sq. ft. café will definitely make you try some cereal-based meals even if you are not a cereal fan.

As I was reviewing the menu with my brother, the first thing I noticed was the Bananas Foster. I knew right away that it was my first choice! The Bananas Foster is a mix of Frosted Flakes and Special K by Kellogg’s, delicious bananas roasted in rum, candied cashews and some Mexican caramel. This is truly a taste to remember.

My brother decided to try Kumquat Life, which like the Bananas Foster, was part of Lauren Conrad’s launch menu for the café a few months ago. This dish contains a unique Kellogg’s product that some of you may have already tried – Chocolate Frosted Flakes. In addition, there were plenty of caramelized kumquats. My brother was impressed by the taste of Kumquat Life and described it as a reasonably sweet dish that he would certainly eat again.

Did I tell you that I also like ice cream? I know that it’s not a good idea to have so much sugar in such a short period of time, but we can all live on the wild side every now and then and that’s exactly what I did when I visited Kellogg’s NYC. We also ended up sharing a pop tart ice cream sandwich. This is a good option for those who want to try an item that doesn’t contain cereal. The Pop Tart ice cream sandwich is made with ice cream that comes from the famous Brooklyn-based Oddfellows. It was on the rich side but did the trick.

We only tried a few of the menu items but I found that there are options for every palette. You can also build your own cereal bowl. My favourite part of the café was the Instagram Station. It is a station where you can unleash your creativity and show your artistic skills to the world. The lighting can be brightened or dimmed and there are various props including Kellogg’s branded items to get the best flat lay ever. Who doesn’t love sharing their meal on Instagram? Well, Kellogg’s has made it simple and easy!

I want to mention how cozy and inviting the atmosphere is. The Kellogg’s Café is a place where you can simply chill out and unwind. They offer free wi-fi for the guests, a few TVs, many board games, and comfy seating. It is also possible to rent a game room or conference room for a special event and they offer a catering menu.

I think the Kellogg’s NYC Cereal Café is something that New York needed a long time. If you’ve planned a hectic day of sightseeing and need a place to recharge yourself and your devices, the Kellogg’s Café would be a great stop for you.
