Nestled in Paris amongst the spirited streets of Trocadero, Canopy by Hilton Trocadéro seeks to reflect the vibrant surroundings of its local neighbourhood – and it does exactly that.
Part of the vibe
When staying at this hotel, you’re never far from either the hustle of authentic Parisian culture or the quiet relaxation of French romance. Situated a stone’s throw from the excitement of the Jardins du Trocadéro, I was in the hue of life of the Trocadéro neighbourhood. In the other direction, the hotel is close to the Place du Mexico where a more peaceful setting can be enjoyed away from the crowds of tourists. It was this enchanting duality of the Canopy by Hilton Paris Trocadéro that left me feeling as if I was a local resident for the duration of my stay.
Excellence in Design
Making its French debut, Hilton’s Canopy Hotel collection utilized the expert architect Jean- Philippe Nuel to cultivate the design of the Trocadéro hotel. Boasting 7 floors, the hotel blends luxurious French aesthetics with Art Deco elements to produce breathtaking interior and exterior designs. On entry, I immediately felt the warmth created by the combination of orange and red colouring which are complimented by attractive lighting designs.
I had arrived at a French hotel, yet I felt at home.
A personal touch
Not only was I struck by the Trocadéro’s beauty, but amongst the spacious, open-plan lobby lies a transfer refuge where guests can relax and use facilities before and after checkout.
When checking in I was yet to realize, that the personalised experience was only just getting started. After the extremely hospitable welcome from the Hilton staff, it was time to find my room.
Inside my room, an authentic, wooden oak finish provided a warming touch to the homely atmosphere of the interior design. The modern feel of my bedroom created a safe yet vibrant feel and I instantly knew that a good night’s sleep was not far away. Of the hotel’s 123 rooms, just a quarter offer brilliant views of the Eiffel tower and from my balcony, I had these enchanting sights.
The next morning, I had a delicious waffle delivered to my room for breakfast and I enjoyed eating it in the serenity of the bedroom before I started the day. The Trocadéro offers breakfast included for your stay and the mouth-watering a la carte options make sure no guests leave the hotel with empty stomachs.
Local cuisine in the open air
To satisfy an appetite, the L’Espirit Nouveau restaurant within the hotel is an elegant dining location to experience a range of local dishes and wines – but a hidden gem upstairs steals the show…
Hotel terraces often have a lot, but the rooftop terrace at the Canopy by Hilton Paris Trocadéro had it all. With a capacity of 90 guests, the terrace offered a fresh, outdoor space to enjoy bites and cocktails while still under the illumination of the Eiffel Tower. Maintaining the aesthetic design of the rest of the hotel, the terrace did not compromise on comfort.
Offering a combination of cosy deckchairs and more formal high tables, the Trocadéro’s
terrace is well suited to any occasion.
Here, I enjoyed blends of mint and tropical fruit cocktails as I soaked up the sun and planned the next day’s adventure. I also ate from a menu of classic French cuisine and home favourites, where all ingredients are supplied locally. These dishes were incredibly authentic and opened a doorway into the flavours of local culture via my tastebuds.
A goodbye (for now…)
When checking out of the Canopy by Hilton Paris Trocadéro, it felt like saying goodbye to a friend. This hotel is bursting with character and offers a warm refuge to stay in the centre of a colourful French community – I look forward to my next visit.
